Susan Downs

Susan Downs is an author, speaker, and caregiver coach. She is passionate about educating and supporting families in their efforts to care for mentally ill loved ones. She frequently speaks to support groups and teaches courses with More to Life, a non-profit educational organization. Her clients rave about her careful listening and ability to quickly connect them to the right resources.

Susan comes from a background in the healthcare community. She was a physical therapist working with children, athletes, and the elderly in various settings.  She has a heart for helping others reach their highest potential.

She is a volunteer with over 30 years of experience with More to Life. She has taught many courses on self-esteem enhancement for this group.

Susan has been married to Phillip for over 40 years.  They have two children and two grandchildren.

Susan is a world traveler and enjoys participating in mission trips to Mexico, Ukraine, Kenya, and the Philippines. She is a deacon in her church.

Susan was president of Greenway Toastmasters and helped start the Bellaire Toastmasters in Texas.

She ran for the City Council in Bellaire three times.  Fortunately, she lost all three races. She continues to be a concerned citizen and speaks before the City Council several times a year.

Susan currently volunteers with the National Alliance on Mental Illness, helping raise money and awareness for this organization. She also advocates for the mentally ill by talking with local, state, and national officials.
